1982 Mitsubishi Colt GLX review from Australia and New Zealand
"Good little reliable car for all ages"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Air con gave out at around 45000 km's, replaced the fuse for it, but has consistently died on me. Quoted by a dealer at around $500-1000.
Seals on all doors have worn out, and now let a bit of air through, but not too much.
Fuel gauge has started to become inaccurate, going up and down, unable to make its mind up recently.
Boot door gas struts run out at 50000 km's.
Oil filter began to leak heavily, but replaced and is fine now, but car is very oil thirsty.
General comments?
Good first car in my opinion, reliable most of the time, economical, inside cabin in very good condition with all upholsteryin top nick, and is also very roomy and comfortable all round.
Not the fastest car around, but a good suburban car as after 80 the old Saturn engine really makes some noise, feels like you're doing 10-20 km's faster than what you're really doing though.
