2005 Opel Corsa Elegance review from South Africa
"A whole lot of car for a small car ;)"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Engine management light came on at 19000km, was fixed eventually under warranty.
Both front main beam globes fused.
Bad tyres that came with car (Continental Eco Contact), pinched side wall and had to replace both front tyres (28000km), tyres still had good thread.
Headlamp bracket broken (came like that from factory) was replaced under warranty.
General comments?
Exceptional underrated turbo diesel
74kw @ 4400rpm and 240nm @ 2300rpm
great fuel consumption at just under 20km per litre
can get up to 900km from 45l tank of low sulphur diesel
performance is good and does not smoke like other diesel cars!!
Can get 180km/h comfortably, not much after that
good solid ride, awesome lotus tuned suspension
handles good and solid, variable weight electronic power steering, stiffens up on long roads
15" alloys, good looker - not the hottest, but nice
and neat
weighs in at 1200kg, does not feel like it when driving it, feels lighter
boot is spacious.
