1988 BMW 3 Series 325i review from North America
"The ultimate driving machine, simply the best car on the road"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
This car was owned my a close friend of ours since 1990 he bought it totaled and rebuilt it. He owned it for 13 years in in his thirteen years of ownership he only replaced one wheel bearing. That's it! General maintenance of course.
Since I have owned it I have had to replace one wheel bearing and one lower control arm, which was recent.
Since I love the car I got a new paint job as the paint on the hood, roof and trunk were fading.
Sometimes it will have a hard time to start, but if you keep trying it will eventually. (usually in cold months)
General comments?
Reliable. In the past 17 years the car has only had three problems.
The car is quick as it can walk all over my boyfriends Volvo 850 glt.
The clutch is 8 years old and doesn't show any signs of wear.
Gas mileage is very good.
Always a pleasure to drive.. it is the ultimate driving machine.
Seats are a bit small and uncomfortable so it wouldn't be great on long hauls.
Easy to find parts for.
Expensive parts.
Nice sound and lots of power.
This car is so reliable my boyfriend will be buying one.
