1978 Holden HZ GTS review from Australia and New Zealand
"A great all round car when standard, and even better when modified"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
2nd gear syncro failed.
Bottom end bearings and rings didn't last as long as expected. (I gave it a pretty hard time)
Vinyl seats split along stitch line.
General comments?
As a daily driver these cars are very comfortable / cruisey.
The power steering is as light as a feather.
With a new stroked 355 engine running a stage 3 setup and a twin throttle body Awesome carby system from gas research (gas only), dumping it on its ass along with the full ground up rebuild of the body; this car now looks the goods, as well as going hard and sounding great.
I would prefer to be in an accident in my old HZ GTS than than some of these newer plastic cars.
Cabin lighting and dash lighting were also modded for better lighting.
