2004 Chevrolet Suburban Base review from North America
"Great handling, powerful, roomy, but the quality issues to be sorted out"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Battery died after 19000 miles.
Hard starting - brought it in twice to get carbon cleaned off the throttle body - was then informed that it is premium fuel only car. When they sold us the car, we asked, and they said regular fuel was fine.
Paint has come off the radio (unreadable) after one year.
Half the display bulbs (radio, A/C, cluster) are dead.
General comments?
Had problems with this car from day one - but you can't beat the room to cost ratio.
I've driven A LOT of different cars. It's more reliable than the E320 Mercedes and the 740il BMW I've owned; both were in more than 20 times each in 3 year leases. So it's more reliable than european cars, but definitely not at good as japanese cars. At least the repair bills are less than the german cars. Definitely my last american car.
