1998 Alfa Romeo GTV Lusso review from UK and Ireland
"A car for the driver"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Leak in radiator at 79000.
Broken reducer pipe going to the radiator at 81000.
General comments?
I have had loads of cars in my time; mostly German, but I have got to say that this car is buy far the best fun to drive of them all.
If you love your cars, then what more is there to want for same-ish sort of money now as you would pay for a turbo Japanese import. You have got your self a proper Italian car.
There are little things that could bug you about the car, like it does eat tyres, being front wheel drive. And the odd thing like the window might not work for a day, then never have anything wrong with it ever again.
The car and engine makes up for all of that; and like Clarkson said, you're not a proper petrol head until you have had a Alfa.
