1988 Land Rover Range Rover Vogue review from Costa Rica
"Tuff car for tuff roads"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Master brake pump.
Rear springs.
Belts needed changing.
Rear right caliper.
More warn out parts then gone wrong.
General comments?
My opinion is somewhat biased since I'm a Range Rover nut. But I have heard plenty pro's and con's of this particular vehicle, even heard about that issue with the auto ZF tranny. But I bought it anyway. I have to admit the running costs are high, but it's just too cool to drive. it's ver comfortable and after I replaced those parts the car hasn't had a big issue yet. Granted, it does need new belts and a complete fluid change since I don't what was the previous owner's habit of maintenance. I got the car to have a platform to create my dream family car. plus, for these roads of Costa Rica you need a rugged SUV and not an SUV "wannabe". I love this car, it's 4x4 handling is second to none. Maybe a Hummer H1 can beat it at it's own game, but that shear size is it's own downfall sometimes.
