1988 GMC Sierra SLE review from North America
"Civic Killer"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing has gone wrong with this truck yet. rust issues as I knew when I bought the truck. I put a new air filter in it, new spark plugs/wires, brakes, brake lines and tires. most of this is because the truck sat for 6 months with a load of gravel in the back from previous owner. Odometer broke at 162000 so I'm guessing my mileage. turn signal/wiper arm snapped off.
I took the truck in for a tune up (spark plugs/wires look at tranny because 1st gear was holding a little too long) and I still get a up and down idle and it is most noticeable when it has been cold then started again I need help!!! my mechanic keeps looking at it last time he added a stove pipe to my intake, but it still persists! I want to know if this is normal for the old 350's. and does flipping the air filter cover actually increase (good) or decrease (bad) gas mileage?
General comments?
I LOVE my truck, thinking of adding a 2" cowl induction hood, anyone have any comments, good bad or indifferent? handling's not too bad for struts, and the rear end is LIGHT because of the fiberglass fenders.. awesome.
