1998 Lexus SC300 review from North America
"Expensive to upkeep, but a great car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
In the past two years I've had to replace the accessory belt, struts, accessory belt again with the tensioner that broke, door locking mechanism and door latch assembly.
A rear main seal leak killed the starter too so that was replaced.
It is far from cheap to get these things fixed.
General comments?
Even with these issues, I must say that the sc300 is a beautiful car that glides over the road wonderfully and has every amenity that you might wish for.
The gas and brake pedals are super responsive and the leather seats that can be adjusted in every way conceivable are great for long rides.
