1999 Pontiac Grand Am SE review from North America
"Scary ride"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I just purchased my grandam 2 days ago and as soon as I left the lot I went to the grocery store as I has some things to do. The car wouldn't start. I had to hit the gas petal to give it some power. I took it back to the dealer and they now have it pontiac. My batt wasnt charging and some dashboard lights aren't turning off. Some sort of recall in a sensor that they are replacing. I have talked to a mech at a pontiac dealership who advised that the the fuel filter has to be changed every 30,000 miles. I know that this hasn't been done so I'm getting that and the fuel system cleaned next week. For those of you haveing starting problems you should look into that and also a full tune up with the spark cables.
General comments?
I like the car. It's sporty and stylish, but I've asked myself "what have I gotten myself into" The car was 4995 and I really need a car so hopefully it will be pkay after putting alittle work into it.
