2001 Chevrolet S-10 LS review from North America
"Had some issues, But always gets me Home, and I love it"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Annoying and expensive-Wiring harness melted, presumable from heat from engine-harness not insulated properly. Dealer wanted $1500 for replacement harness, did job myself using wires that costed me about $15, so far so good. Job took a week though.
Oil lines needed to be replaced, after 1 year already leaking again.
General comments?
Other than those 2 issues, truck runs well and feels solid.
Replaced the laughable stock tires with some "truck" tires, now looks like the 4wd model, even though is 2 wheel drive. Also the change has improved rear payload.
Terrible gas mileage, not sure why, but 325 kilometres from 60 litres is pretty bad.-My previous silverado, which I sold thinking the S10 would be better on gas, got about the same mileage with the 4.8/4 speed auto combo.
Rear jump seats pretty much useless.
Comfortable to drive and sit in.
Power is decent with the 4.3 V6/automatic combo.
Despite some beefs with it, I love my S-10, and will be sad day when my wife forces me to part with it.
