1994 Chevrolet Corsica Base review from North America
"A pretty good car for a Chevy"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Since the car has been in my family, it hasn't had a whole lot done to it.
Brakes, rotors, tires a few times.
Battery, alternator, blower motor (twice, but all three under warranty).
Stabilizer bar and stab links.
An oil pressure switch (it cost 57 bucks to get fixed).
The blinkers just stopped working on a hot day, and I think that the wires shorted out. Along with the blinker going, so did my Hi-beams, or brights.
I've noticed that a lot of Corsicas don't have their fuel bay covers... mine doesn't either, rusted off. It's not a rust bucket, but it does have substantial rust underneath her. All of this in over ten years.
This car has been abused by two 16-year old males... it's still going.
Nothing major has been done to the car.
Original tranny and engine, although the transmission does act a little weird when cruising at 55 mph, like it's not sure if it wants 3rd or 4th gear.
General comments?
I got this car from my parents as my first car, and I still currently drive it. It's got the 3.1 V6 in it with a 4 sp automatic.
It's got a lot of pep in it for an economy car, and the gas mileage isn't too bad either; 28 tops.
I've been in a lot of cars, and I feel so comfortable driving her.
I'm 5'11 and I'm not cramped at all. The visibility around the car is excellent, making me feel really safe when I'm driving crazy.
If GM made all of their cars like this one, then they'd be Honda.
