1980 Renault 18 TL review from Jordan

Engine Starter

Carburetor replaced twice

Radiator Fan

Axles both sides replaced many times

Disparator Replaced.

An over-whole was done to the engine in 1993.

Shock absorbents Replaced to times for in the front and one time in the rear.

Motor holders.

I got this car from my father; it was a piece of junk in the garage after he used it for 18 years. through those years I used to go with him to the mechanic and I saw how much he suffered having it repaired Due to scarcity of spare parts " Dealers Fault" and the fact that like all French cars Renault was not so popular in Jordan, so mechanics aren't experienced in Fixing it. I remember that he did an over-whole job in 1993.

I love this car, I road in it since I was born. When I got 18 years in 1998 it was parked for two years, it didn't pass the annual check many times and my father was just fed-up with it he parked it in the back ward. One day I decided to repair the car and I washed it fill it up with Gas and installed a battery; the car started like it was parked a day before, but still a lot had to be done to get it to run safely on the road and get it to pass the annual check.

I still have the car and it is still running. I am planning to buy a new car, but I am never going to sell My Renault 18.

The things I like about it:

Great Acceleration even when it is 28 years old.

Up the hill Down the Valley you are the first to arrive.

Soft, rough, and extra rough grounds, No Problem the car is well elevated from the ground.

I drove many cars, but the U turn of this car is unbelievable.

Start up in the morning.

In cold days you don't have to warm-up.

It never stops in the rain of flooded streets.

I wish it was:

A 5 speed Gear rather than 4.

A smoother Ride.

Lower noise engine.

Better interior. specially the tableau.

Better door looks.
