2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer LS review from North America
"I'd never buy another one!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Brake service - costly
shocks - rear - not bad
FAN CLUTCH - WHAT??? An electronic, overpriced nightmare!!
Spark plug service - no joy
I'd be afraid of even considering taking this offroad.
General comments?
This vehicle may be comfortable, but it is a gas hog and repair costs are not cheap. It appears as though there are some well documented issues and numerous recalls that I wish I had known about prior to my purchase. It's a shame because this could be a great vehicle if it wasn't for such parts issues. The fan clutch just went and it is no cheap fix. Once again this part failure is well documented and should justify a recall, but I doubt if it will. I've owned Chevy's in the past and this was my first truck. Will I buy Chevy again? Not on your life. This thing is a money pit on wheels. I'm either going back to JEEP or buying foreign. And Detroit wonders what it's doing wrong??? Just check the net for historic problems with this vehicle. It's a well defined timeline of failures.
If this vehicle has taught me anything it's to do your research first before buying. The Trailblazer is a poorly designed, gas guzzling, high maintenance chunk of poor Detroit engineering. Save your money and buy something else.
