1991 Holden Commodore Executive review from Australia and New Zealand
"Good for A to B"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing major, front shocks replaced, replaced the alternator.
Slight leak around cap of power steering, but I do have to get new lifters as they are noisy, but will wait till they get louder.
Motors in these cars run rough (even though it's the series 2 engine). You would have thought Holden would have rectified this on the next series?
General comments?
These cars make a good work horse.
Though let down by the lack of refinement eg interior trim squeaks a little over rough surfaces, and all the neglected ones I noticed have the roof lining fall apart and the door seals that attach to the body also a not made well. Fortunately mine are fine, though I had to re glue a part of the rubber that came away nothing major.
The suspension seems to be harsh at times on rough surfaces.
I suspect the one I have is an exception to others, as it has just clicked over 100,000klm and I still have original upto date log books. It looks like it just came out of the factory - not a scratch on it or interior wear, and I often get asked how did I get it in this condition; luck I guess.
