2006 Renault Megane review from Costa Rica
"Bold car and a great engine!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Some noises from the dash, and the rain sensor activates the wipers when it's sunny, but they work well when it's raining.
General comments?
I love the dash design; it's one of the best I've ever seen.
Has a roomy interior, and gives the sensation of being in a larger car. Also has good surface finish.
The seats are comfortable, and there are many places for storage; 5 covered and 5 uncovered.
The automatic AC is very practical, because you don't have to regulate it if it's too cold or too warm, it just keeps the temperature as you want. The automatic lights and wipers are great because you get used to just waiting until they work and that's it!
I love the card instead of a key; it's harder to miss it and well, it's stylish, specially when your friends see it.
The bolder design of Costa Rican market (Hatchback style) the design of this car is very advanced.
The brakes are pretty powerful and let you stop in very short distances.
The 6th gear makes the engine economic as well as reduces the noise at 130 km/h.
On highways it's a real pleasure, and I feel safe thanks to its bigger car feeling.
The powerful engine lets you drive kinda sporty (2.0 16v), and it responds very well in emergency situations. When raining, the car feels "stuck" to the road.
