1986 Chevrolet Scottsdale K 10 review from North America
"American classic!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Carb issues - engines cuts out when stopping. Fixed easily with a thorough carb cleaning (exterior and through fuel system)
Leaking lower radiator hose - $15, 30 minute fix.
License plate light wiring was all ripped out - $15, 30 minute fix.
After market fuel tank - gauge doesn't work
General comments?
This is my 3rd Chevy truck, and my favorite. It's a joy to ride. I bought it for only $700 - it runs great, just had some rust. After some body work and fresh paint, it's a pimp machine.
The mid 80's Chevy trucks were their best looking truck body. This truck is a gem in the long history of chevy trucks - the last year Chevy put carbs in their trucks. It's a gas guzzler, however, which makes it better as a work/for fun car, rather than a primary ride.
If you're considering buying an 86' Scottsdale, stop thinking, and do it! I can't stop driving mine.
