2000 Alfa Romeo 156 TS SP3 review from UK and Ireland
"Swift, comfortable and surprisingly reliable"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Passenger side sun-visor will not stay in its up position.
Other than that nothing apart from routine servicing.
General comments?
This is an exceptionally good looking car for a 4 door saloon. It also goes and handles very well. Reliability has been perfect apart from the above mentioned sunvisor.
My car is fitted with GTV style wheels, and the sportpack, which makes handling a lot sharper than standard. I also get the benefit of carbon and leather trim ,instead of ghastly fake wood.
I have previously owned a V6 version of this car, and this car handles far better, and is better on fuel, but straight line performance doesn't suffer too badly as a consequence of the smaller engine.
I would recommend one of these cars to anyone; the reliability has been far better than my previous Nissan.
Just make sure you keep an eye on the oil level and change the cambelt and variator every 36,000 miles, and you should get few problems.
