1994 Chrysler New Yorker NewYorker review from North America

"Good car, if you want a V6"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Timing Belt ripped off, which left me stranded in the middle of no where. But did not damage engine.

ABS stopped working.

Traction control started going crazy, would turn on when ever it felt like it. I could be driving in summer and it just turn on in the middle of driving.

Tranny went out, but it didn't leave me stranded. It staid in second gear until I got home, but then it was finished.

Bad steering, the steering would get hard to turn, but I think that it was a common problem with all New Yorkers.

General comments?

In general it's a good car. Most of the things that went wrong are just because of its age. So no complains on that side.

This car can take a beating and still work. I went over the side walk at 35km/h twice with it. The first time I was just to lazy to go from the main street and the second time it was a night and I was going in reverse to get out of a one way street and I didn't see the side walk. Both time I was sure I ripped a brake line or gas line, but no it was still running.

At first I took care of it, but once all the problems started is when I didn't care and just drove it all over the place.

So it's a good buy, very comfortable. I just wouldn't get another one.

It was hard to work on, I had to remove a lot of thing in order to be able to reach a broken part to replace.

And the fact that it's a front wheel drive and it isn't a V8 doesn't help.

I prefer a 1994-96 Roadmaster of Fleetwood.
