1999 Saturn SW SW2 review from North America
"I think that this would make a fine short-distance commuter"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
It hadn't had a lot of care, so there was a lot of smaller problems: rear window wiper, left rear window, radiator fan, check engine and service engine lights...
General comments?
As I said, the car did what I bought it for - delivered good gas mileage. I am a traveling musician. My gas mileage has ranged from 32 mpg to 41 mpg. Averaged about 35 mpg so far. It isn't very comfortable, is loud, and not very peppy. I think that if this car had had regular care, it would have been fine. I overhauled the engine at 120,000 and that cured the oil consumption problem, which got pretty bad (1qt/700 miles). Changing the O2 sensors has helped too.
