1996 Dodge Ram Pickup LARAMIE review from North America
"This truck is awesome"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
NOTHING.
General comments?
I have a 1997 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 with a cummins diesel and automatic transmission. The truck has over 215,000 miles on it and I have never had a problem with it. The truck has been used to pull heavy loads since it was new and the transmission had never slipped or stuttered one time. This truck is abused everyday and is in 4x4 at least once day if more. I have the fuel plate removed which is not recommended for a stock automatic, but I did it just to see what would happen. I think the problem with everyone elses truck is just that these trucks were made to be driven like a TRUCK and not babied all thier life. At low rpm's the transmission does not get enough pressure therfore it malfunctions. This can be fixed with a pressure loc transmission kit from BD diesel which is the only upgrade on my truck. So I think people should talk around before investing in a truck that they have never driven before and then complaining when it malfunctions. Just to find out it's a $350.00 fix when its new.
