1998 Geo Tracker 4x4 Soft Top review from North America
"I'm looking to buy another one, Enough said"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Accelerator stuck a few times when it was new (scary!).
Cracked engine block @ 66,000 miles running at 105 mph for over 200 miles (my fault for running it too hard).
Plastic tabs that attached soft top to rear end broke.
Change console door broke.
Had to adjust the timing multiple times.
General comments?
*Please note. This was a 1997 model, not a 1998.
I LOVED, LOVED LOVED this car. I was studying geology and could take this little car anywhere off road. It went through sand, into small box canyons and even truly off-road where I only bottomed it out on a rock and got stuck once.
It was quick for a 4-banger.
Felt a little funny through left-handed freeway curves.
Gas tank was too small, but the car got great gas mileage.
Convertable top was a MAJOR pain in the butt to put back on.
