1989 Geo Spectrum Hatchback review from North America
"Great car for a teen that can hold up to abuse!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
since I have owned the car I have had to replace a C/V joint and a brake line. Oh, and a short little transmission tube, but that is it. Not bad for a $300 car.
General comments?
I have known the previous owner for about 5 years and he bought the car as an ex-rental when he was in High School. He drove it everywhere and rarely changed the oil, it was lucky to get an oil change once a year. It just doesn't want to die.
After deciding the car will probably never die and me being forced to replace it, I bought a Geo Storm GSI which has made a nice replacement. So I gave my Spectrum to my Mom who still drives it to the grocery store and work.
It makes a great car for a teen to get from A to B that holds up well to abuse!
