1996 Ford Taurus GL review from North America
"Greatest car ever"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
WATER PUMP, RACK&PINION TWICE (400.00), RADIATOR (450.00), BALL JOINTS & TIE RODS, SPEED SENSORS, CATALYTIC CONVERTER ($750.00), OXYGEN SENSORS, SHOCKS. aLL REPAIRS MADE WITHIN FIRST 10,000 MILES OF OWNERSHIP. TO BE FAIR, THESE WERE ALL ORIGINAL PARTS ON THE CAR THAT WERE REPLACED. CAR HAD ALMOST 200,000 MILES ON IT WHEN PURCHASED.
General comments?
This is probally the best car I have ever owned, I know it sounds crazy, but it is. didn't complain about the repairs because I only paid $1,200 for the car. It is said that the car has transmition problem, I say beware of mechanics that say your transmition is bad, because most likely if your transmition is slipping it is your speed sensors that our faulty. Replace them first and see if slipping goes away. If speed sensors are bad it will cause terrible transmition slip which will eventually lead to you having a bad transmition. This car never broke down on me. I had this car until I donated it to charity. A real work horse, that will drive as long as you take care of it. Kinda like a wife lol.
