1979 Citroen GS review from Serbia
"A lot of pleasure and reliability"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Clutch change at 130000km
Bad driver seat
body work and painting
usual changes: oil, sparks...
General comments?
Extremely comfy car for travel when your hydraulic system is OK... You will never feel bumps, its just floating... Not so quick (140km/h), but what can you expect from 28 years old car, slow acceleration, but very tight and solid feeling on the road... TLC is helping a lot, it runs 100km per about 12 liters of gas in city conditions, and 7-8 litres at the open road... I was driving this car for almost 20000km per one year, and for 1979 year of production it is extremely good and solid car... This car give you some special feeling during driving, a car with a soul, like all old Citroens... All in all, great low costing car, a lot of pleasure, reliability, character and beautiful design... You can still find all parts for GS, and the most important thing is to find a good mechanic...Just buy one and enjoy...
