1996 Dodge Avenger ES review from North America
"It gets me where I need to (most of the time)"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The sun roof broke and I was not able to fix it myself.
The lights are very easy to leave on leading to a run-down battery.
The cabinet thing in the middle (dont know the name) is torn up and didnt get that way from abuse (so said the man who sold it to me).
There is a feature that doesnt allow the key to open the trunk and its a hassle and herd to find.
Constant transmission problems ie being stuck in neutral or first gear.
Water leaks in (very slightly) when I wash it or it rains.
It cant accelerate very well if the AC is on.
General comments?
It is a very pretty car and it handles fine.
It looks fast, but its really not.
The front tweeters are a hard size to find for cheap, so do not blow them.
It runs fine most of the time, but it does very poorly when its cold.
It has never overheated on me and I live in central California.
