1992 Ford Laser KH review from Australia and New Zealand
"Great all round car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
It was good when I first bought it, but it needed CV joints, but as time went on it needed maintaining, as I don't think it got it from its last owner:
Front brakes
CV joints
Fuel tank pulled down and cleaned
New radiator
Ring gear and starter motor
Timing belt
And just recently it got a gearbox service and modulator on gearbox fixes, and got a second hand carburettor
General comments?
This is my first car, and I have owned this car for the past 2 1/2 years. It's been a good car to me, and it has never broke down!!
It did need a bit of work in the first year of having it, but I think that's down to the last owner not maintaining it!! The work it has had done on it would have been not that much, but for crappy mechanics stuffing the car up and me getting it back worse off than it was when I brought it in. This has caused me to spend more to fix the dodgy mechanic's stuff up!!!
It's excellent on fuel; it uses $30, which is half a tank in a fortnight. It's quiet and drives smooth like a new car!!! It beats my mum's Ford Laser 90 model manual all the time; it's got a lot of grunt for what it is!!!
Handles well in all weathers. and doesn't miss a beat on long trips!
All the interior is like new. The only thing I can fault it on is the paint job. It'd had a respray before I got it, and it's shoddy so it's got crows feet on the bonnet, but that's it.
All in all it's a fantastic car. I love it.
