1989 Chevrolet Camaro rs review from North America
"The best of Chevrolet, coming from a Ford guy"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Her only problems are a leaky roof with T-Tops and slick tread on tires.
General comments?
This car has good power. The 1989 Chevrolet Camaro rs came either with a 2.8 or 5.0 and mine is the 5.0. It had 215 horsepower stock, but I put pipes on it so its got maybe 220-225 hp now. She's got power for a 1989 sports car. I don't drive her much; she is my "show car"
and I only take her to car shows etc. But one day I took her to the back roads and -carefully; because her tires are stock and are almost slicks now- floored it not to full speed, but from about 30mph start to 70+mph.
If she had a turbo she'd go a lot faster. (I am a ford guy; the only chevys I like are camaros-which I have no clue if 89 fords had turbo; I'm just saying...) But anyway I'd give her an 8.5 out of 10. If your looking to buy an rs DO NOT get the 2.8, get the 5.0, or the 5.7 iroc-z. But I prefer rs more. So I guess to end my speech I'll say that she's pretty, pretty fast, and her only problems are the T-Tops leaking and the tires are good for drifting; bad tread. Thank you, and coming from a ford guy, this chevy is the best of the chevy's, the camaro!
