1967 MG BGT review from North America
"Fun and cool"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Leaking rear brakes
Throttle cable broke
SU carbs hard to tune
I broke the transmission three times. My mods put too much power to a weak link. Last time it broke the mainshaft in the transmission cracked.
General comments?
I really loved this car. I was 20 when I got the car (now 54) and I did mods to it. I installed a single Weber carb, Hooker headers, traction bars (to prvent wheel hop), I had the engine rebuilt and blueprinted, head CC'ed. The car was pretty fast for what it was.
I am 6'2" tall and had great legroom. The car had wirewheels that looked cool.
