2005 Ford Focus Ghia review from UK and Ireland

I decided to opt for a smaller more economical car and consequently opted for the Ford Focus. My decision was based on the positive reviews the car had received and the fact that I had driven a pre 2005 focus many times in the past for business.

Firstly I will start with the positives. The Focus is very fast and the handling very responsive in addition the boot capacity is excellent.

However the Focus is DEFINITELY the most uncomfortable car I have ever driven,the seats are narrow and extremely uncomfortable the Lumbar support is next to useless. Each time I have used the car for a long journey I developed a backache. I have tried all ways to get comfortable unfortunately the leg room is limited and combined with the poor seats make it a horrible drive. I am only of average build and weight.

I note that other reviewers have also commented on the seating I now know what they mean!!!.

My advice to anyone considering purchasing a Focus PLEASE PLEASE make sure that you carry out a Lengthy test Drive you need a couple of Long Journeys to ensure that the vehicle is ergonomic and comfortable for you unfortunately I did not do this!!!.

I understand that A new Focus is being produced next year hopefully they will sort the seating.

Unfortunately I have no option, but to sell the car as I can no longer tolerate the discomfort.
