1975 Volkswagen Passat review from Australia and New Zealand
"Quality German engineering, made to go the distance!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Battery died.
Water pump wrecked.
Re-rung a few years ago.
Window winding mechanisms badly worn.
General comments?
Very fuel efficient for such an old car.
This car was given to me by the last owner, who was unable to sell it even to wreckers!! Very poor resale value.
Rear seating is quite cramped, however the front seats have HEAPS of room. I'm 6'5" and I have all the leg room I need and more.
No leaks in the cab from rain.
This old girl just goes and goes. I'd confidently drive it from Sydney to Darwin or Perth.
