Nissan's legendary build quality is no question once more in this new model, but Id strongly suggest new buyers to inspect the entire Mass air flow sensor for any debris whatsoever especially if the car was left lying too long at a yard. As bulletproof as the engine is, mine fell foul to a nasty AFM that robbed me of power and cost RM600 to replace. It's an Irony how such a powerful engine can be crippled by the smallest of components. After getting ur s-15, IMMEDIATELY change the fluids and put her up on a dynamometer for a base run check. Effective output must be >230PS which indicates a healthy lump. Check that idle is a steady smidge above the 750 rpm mark (800rpm) with 15 degrees BTDC timing.

This is probably the best drivers car around so far. It's a simple formula:- A mighty turbo lump kicking 250PS, Pure rear wheel drive with no annoying computers (read evo's AYC) to rob the driver of his fun and a gearbox so engaging ur girlfriend will be jealous of it. And best of all, still returns a respectable 12 kilometers to the litre. Built to be bashed to bits with minimal maintenence, it just doesn't get any better that the nissan silvia s15 spec-r.
