1998 Nissan 240SX SE review from North America
"Better car start out with then a Z28 but sooner or later your goin to want something with more power"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I have had to replace all four brake rotors (not all at that same time) that ran me around 1000 dollars.
A headlight switch went and caused my car to have no lights on the driver side. 150 dollars.
Clutch went at about 119k miles 650 with labor.
The tie rods went had to replace (don't remember how much that ran me)
General comments?
Since I have the SE model it came with a stiffer suspension and the five lug rims. I love the way the car handles in the corners although the bumps are annoying (taking the long way to aviod the potholes haha PA for you). The power is not enough for me personally the redline is at 6.5 and the power seems to die out by 5. Cams intake and exhaust would all fix that, but that is not cheap and still your being outrun by turbo eclipses and most anything other than a Honda. The car is light and RWD so that leaves open the options for sliding around corners (although another 50-100hp would make this easier). Car gets good gas for a car with 408 gears and a four cylinder of its size (2.4 liter). I get around 25 mpg average and close to 28 mpg highway. I do wish that there was more room in the car I'm 6' and over 200 lbs and theres no way I could sit in that back seat for more than 2 and a half minutes. The car seems to rattle often when you go over bumps and has that built cheaper feel, but is a solid car.
