1999 Audi A3 1.8T review from Australia and New Zealand
"Smart hatch"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Speedo and odometer intermittently didn't work one day.
Replaced cam belt, tensioners and water pump as a precaution when purchased ($1200), as Car Inspection Services advised that cambelt rubber starts to perish after five years.
General comments?
The car has very good performance pick-up wise. In terms of handling, there is very litle body roll, however, the steering has rather vague feel and doesn't feel very direct.
The trim is very tidy and appears to wear well. Overall the car and interior trim have a solid feel.
