1997 Chrysler Sebring Convertible JXi review from North America

Headlights are useless at night - since new.

Fuel pump died at 6,500 miles.

Front door speaker covers are destroyed.

Transmission died at 50,000 miles.

Volume control on radio developed a mind of its own! 97,000.

Drain slots stopped up, interior flooded at 110,000.

Replaced under-seat amplifier due to flood 110,300.

Mechanic destroyed radiator, along with bad advice from helpful relatives, at 175,000 miles.

Trip computer display went crazy then stopped working at 180,000.

Tachometer, then odometer, then speedometer became erratic about 180,000.

Replaced speedometer cluster at 200,000 miles.

Replaces blower motor resister 201,500 miles.

I bought this car for my wife on Valentine's Day in 1997. I stopped by the dealership and picked it out as they were literally just unloading it from the truck. She was very pregnant and was having trouble climbing into our Bronco.

She loves the car and I can't get her to even think of trading it in on a new one.

It is starting to get a little cramped for a family of five!

Chrysler should have put more thought into the headlights. They are dismal at night and over time they become frosted over and require frequent refinishing. Should have been made of glass and have greater visibility. The fog lights shine farther down the road.
