2000 Chevrolet Blazer LS review from North America
"This truck is fine with a little TLC"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Front Passenger Wheel Hub/Bearings replaced twice.
Rear Differential Problems (not fixed yet)
Alternator/Battery issues after 100,000 miles, and have not stopped occurring.
Rear Hatch creaks loudly (started after 80,000 miles)
Both doors creak (since purchased used)
Visor mirror covers broken after first year of my possession (did not use them frequently)
Change (quarters/dime/nickel) holder broken last month.
Center Pieces for rims (with the Chevy symbol) had to all be replaced (and will need to be replaced again shortly, I can already see they are loose)
Rear window washing fluid started leaking (I disconnected it and have never used it since; not too important)
Gas Gauge stopped working at 70,000.
Dash board lights on the radio, 2w/4w/4w low buttons, and the some of the center console have stopped working.
Heat and Air Conditioning do not work right now (could be an easy fix, but I have heard it can be pretty expensive)
General comments?
I have fallen in and out of love with my 200 Chevy Blazer.
I owned a 1986 s-10 Blazer and loved it. It lasted until 260,000 miles and still had plenty of life (although the engine was rebuilt once, the transmission kept on ticking)
My current blazer is awesome. I have had to put a great deal of effort into it, but it is worth it. My main concern right now is the rear differential. I was told the issues I have had with the Wheel hubs/bearings are caused from it. I will need to fix that before replacing parts again.
Currently, at 130,000 miles, I am starting to get a lot of hesitation when I apply to much effort to the gas (for example, when I am trying to pass someone, or leave a red light). I guess I'll just have to start treating it like an old truck.
All in all, I love my truck. I probably wouldn't buy another Chevy right away... unless I research and find a car without re-occurring issues.
