1997 GMC Yukon SLT review from North America
"Good bang for the buck for someone looking for more than just a get-around vehicle"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Transmission control body (common problem, easy repair)
Door handle broke
No other problems.
General comments?
Nice to drive, comfortable SUV. The steering feels a little loose on the highway, but is easy to control. The suspension can be rough over large bumps, but is is designed to be used occasionally offroad. Handles well in all conditions, but does not have the ground clearance for serious offroad use. Tows heavy loads easily, and gas mileage has been decent whether towing or not as long as I refrain from heavy acceleration. I would recommend GMC models from this era, but do not like the newer models.
