2007 Subaru Outback review from North America

"Overall, I am very pleased with this car... it meets, or exceeds, nearly all of my expectations."

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Nothing...everything is perfect!

General comments?

This is the most comfortable car I've owned yet. I'm very pleased with the seats, which are completely adjustable, and are HEATED! You won't believe how well this car handles on icey and snowy roads...it's great... feels like it's glued to the road. We've had snow up to 12" deep in our driveway, the AWD sails right through the stuff, not getting stuck is a huge plus. The engine power is just right, it's not too little, and not too much. (take a test drive and see for yourself) The engine is really quiet, and is the smoothest at idle of ANY 4-cyl I have seen yet...very little vibration. At first, I was apprehensive about how much mpg I would be getting, but now I know: the EPA ratings for this car are conservative. I'm getting 28.6 highway, and about 24 combined city/highway, which is great for an SUV. (if you are getting less, then avoid ethanol, or ethanol blends, if you can... they give MUCH less mpg, in any vehicle...)

I really like the storage space in the back, with trays and bins for tools, flashlights, emergency stuff, etc. (like a tool-tray over the spare tire)

Oh...I have to mention the SOLID feeling to the vehicle. There is just NOTHING tinny about it... they really built this vehicle right...

And...it's built/assembled in the good 'ol USA...

in Indiana...

If you need a car with GREAT traction on snow and ice, good comfort level, and reasonable mpg you won't find anything better. I saw a movie clip on "YouTube" where this vehicle successfully climbs a 35-degree hill. All the other SUV's failed this test. (except for a Volvo). AWD works...
