1998 Ford Escort es sport review from North America
"Affordable, reliable, and well worth the money"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
So far, the only things that have happened were the wiper motor quit working, it needed a set of tires and a front end allignment.
General comments?
Driving this car is typical of driving a small commuter vehicle. Space is limited as is comfort, however for a four cylinder, pick up from a dead stop isn't bad, gas mileage is teriffic (I average between 26-28mpg city and 34-36 highway) Curves in this car were suprisingly fun. It handled very responsively with just a hint of understeer, suspension was a little soft for my liking, but nonetheless took the bumps very well. No cruise or tilt, and the transmission is a little slow in changing gears, but overall this is a fun car with, so far, excellent affordability and reliability.
