What things have gone wrong with the car?
Steering Rack was replaced 4 times
Transmission is completely bad at 49000
Windows were stuck open
Leaking Anti Freeze at 39,000.
General comments?
This is the most unreliable car we have ever owned. Was bought used in 2003 for my wife with Jaguar's extended warranty.
We have had numerous problems with it.
We had the steering rack replaced at least three times and two computers related to the steering were replaced.
The transmission made a buzzing noise the week after we got it. We reported it twice in 2003 (within 60 days of purchase) and in 04. Of course now that it is 2008 and conveniently our of warranty Jaguar and its affiliates told me to pound salt.
I am stuck with a $5500 transmission repair at 49,000 when I first reported this at 37500 miles while it was still under warranty.
Dealer does NOT care!
They fixed the windows while it was under warranty - whoopie.
My car is worth $7000 on the market, but with the transmission being bad it is worth somewhere between $1000-1500.00.
I will NEVER buy a Jag again and if someone gave one to me I would sell it for scrap.
What a trvesty this car would be so poorly designed and built. It was beautiful and I thought getting one of the new Jag's would be a great thing.
