1999 Toyota Avalon XLS review from North America
"Amazing Silent and Powerful family CAR"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing has gone wrong with the car.
Got it from an auction.
Treated the engine with a ENGINE FLUSH SOLVENT and converted into MOBIL 1 SYNTHETIC OIL.
TRANSMISSION OIL CHANGED at 146,000 Miles
SPARK PLUGS CHANGED to PLATINUM at 146,000 Miles
RADIATOR FLUSHED at 146,000 Miles.
FOG LIGHTS DO NOT WORK.
General comments?
ABSOLUTELY SILENT CAR.
GAS MILEAGE IS 28 Miles/Gallon in City (stop and go) and Around 34Miles/Gallon on Highway (if you do drive around 70 mph)
Brakes are a issue and get worn out if you are hard on them.
The GAS Shocks that come with the car are great. However, changing them after 8 years would make the ride even more comfortable.
The speaker System is awesome with Sub-woofer and easily kills most of the 2008 CAR - MUSIC system.
Overall, it's a awesome car with almost no maintaince or breakdowns of any kind. I had a FORD earlier and even though it was considered as a Reliable car, I would visit the mechanic atleast once a year!
With a Honda or a Toyota, if you do some basic things, you save a lot and the car does have a resale value!
