2000 Chrysler Town and Country LXi review from North America
"I would buy another in a second; extremely reliable"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Alternator: 120$
ignition switch: 250$
starter: 90$
I think we replaced brake pads maybe once, I would think, but I am not sure.
Tires, oil, etc.
The prices on these I am not 100% sure of and we do our own repairs.
Otherwise that is all that has gone wrong with the car.
General comments?
I recently totaled my Camaro and I ended up receiving my parents Chrysler minivan.
I love it! It isn't near the handling of my Camaro, but I love it. It's really fast, I can keep up with traffic very easily, it gets me from A to B and even to C occasionally! :)
The gas mileage isn't too bad at all I drive 95/5 city/highway and the average is around 18.5. Very good for a teenager paying for gas.
The car itself creaks a bit, but what can I expect on a car that's been driven from Kansas to Las Vegas, Chicago, Florida and Texas. The plastic trim on the lower parts of the seats are cracked severely, but it doesn't bother me. The power seats still work, which is pleasing.
The airconditoner has had some problems here and there such as infrequent shortages of full blast air/heat. It defrosts my windows in the morning so we're happy there.
The reliability of this van has been amazing, in the 8 years we've owned it, we've only had few repairs.
I myself wouldn't buy another, but if I ever have kids I'm definitely getting a Chrysler Town and Country. The paint has held up well with only minor chipping on the logo. The motor regulators still work to this day on the windows as well as our key less entry.
The only complaint I have with the car is the amass amount of plastic in the car. Almost every surface I touch is hard cold plastic; but almost every car has plastic everyday, but you think Chrysler would step up and not have as much plastic in their cars, but oh well.
Overall, I give it a 9/10 rating.
