1966 Plymouth Fury VIP 4 door review from Australia and New Zealand
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Not much key ignition switch failed, fitted 65amp alternator, front seat needs repair splits etc.
General comments?
Imported from California to NZ where cars undergo rigid compliance check. Compliance inspector reckons it was a great old car; original paint matching nos#, flew through compliance no issues.
Very fast big car.
Rear airshocks make handling better.
Has factory power disc brakes, which are excellent.
A very quiet car at speed, even on our coarse chip roads.
For a 1966 vehicle, it's well appointed with luxury interior inc ashtray lights and aircon still works.
Build quality is excellent; things don't break or wear easily.
Believe it's the only fury vip in NZ; a real head turner.
Motor and 727 are strong, having been rebuilt before in the USA. On back roads have achieved 120mph no problem with disc brakes.
Absolutely no rust; a great old solid Mopar.
