1998 Ford Taurus GL Sedan review from North America
"Feed and diaper her, and she will put you in a good retirement home"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I had to replace three or four door seals, two transaxle seals, radiator hose seems to go every 50-60 thousand miles, and a few bulbs. I am on the fourth or fifth battery, and on the fifth set of tires. I had to replace the trunk and hood switches, and my key fob buttons never worked from the start.
General comments?
Taurus is somewhat slow for my tastes.
Great reliability, just regular wear and tear!
Very, very comfortable.
Climate control easy to control.
Trunk is small and despise the trunk hinges.
Drinks oil very slowly.
Gas mileage was about 34 MPG when new, now down to 25 MPG, almost all highway models.
I think the car is somewhat ugly, but it it is okay.
Headlight illumination NEEDS to improve!
