2001 Nissan Altima SL review from North America
"I would not recommend"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
At 70,000 miles car started mysteriously using oil (no leaks).
At 80,000 miles service engine light begin staying on most of the time.
The service department at Nissan did find any problems despite these two symptoms (inspected 2 times by Nissan).
At 92,000 miles car would not start (just spins). Nissan service department reported complete engine failure. Estimated repairs totaled $5,600. Costs include new engine, new catalyst & AC.
Also, front low beam headlights went out at around 85,000 miles.
General comments?
This was my 3rd Nissan auto and first one to have any problems.
