1999 Chevrolet Tahoe lt review from North America
"Easy and affordable to work on"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Fuel pump x 5
brakes x 2.
General comments?
Altex fuel pumps go out quickly. I changed four of them before switching to the Delphi brand and haven't had a problem since. One of the went out on the rack and some only lasted a few days. Intake just went out at 215000, 250$ to repair. Transmission was rebuilt at 190000 for 1000$. Keep up with the maintenance and this truck will drive like a dream. All the parts are easy to get and if your mechanic is honest most repairs are very cheap compared to most other brands. If you can change your oil then you can work on most of this truck by yourself. I only take it in for things inside the tranny or block.
