2001 Saturn L300 LX review from North America
"This car is poor workmanship and design"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Shortly after purchasing, the back lights kept blowing out. Also puffs of smoke from the dash on the driver's side. Key gets very hot to the touch. Dealer was not helpful, in fact said smoking normal.
Finally, following many return visits, they fixed the electric problem. Subsequent to the fix, the heater now makes clicking sound.
Power steering pump leaking at 50,000.
Heater core leaking fluid into passenger side of car.
Wrench SES light comes on, but fortunately has gone off. Runs rough when the light is on.
Car wouldn't turn over (my private mechanic told me to use other key which corrected problem). Got the recall card to fix the light in the back; too scared to take it to my local dealer.
I wrote to Saturn and got extremely rude response. I have told as many people as I can, not to buy Saturn. When ranking customer service they have you fill out a survey for every little visit, but when the going gets tough and they needed to back their product, it wasn't happening. I too, like others, am going to trade and will NEVER buy American again.
