2001 Audi A4 review from North America
"This is the best car I have ever owned; speedy and beautiful!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The transmission failed twice, (luckily covered by factory warranty). Audi says the problems were corrected in transmissions manufactured later.
Oil pump failed (my fault from neglect). When the oil pump failed, it caused my cylinder head and turbo to seize (ONCE AGAIN, MY FAULT).
General comments?
This car is quick and handles extremely well. This car + teenaged driver = SPEEDING TICKETS.
This car's interior is the best interior I have ever seen. Everything is illuminated in red, and I have black leather... Beautiful.
I can't help but to feel spoiled when I drive this car.
YOU MUST TAKE THESE CARS TO A MECHANIC WHO SPECIALIZES IN VW'S AND AUDI'S. IF YOU DON'T, YOU WILL BE SORRY, AND BROKE. Most of the bad experiences with these cars are due to the mechanics lack of knowledge of the car. My mechanic kept on top of everything, and we caught problems before they were expensive.
