2006 Toyota Corolla Verso T3 review from UK and Ireland
"Surprisingly Impressive!!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Gearbox needed rebuilding at 50,000 miles due to the synchro on second weakening, now is starting to happen on third.
Other than that, nothing.
General comments?
Great car. Looked at the Mazda 5, VW Touran and Grand Scenic before choosing this. Was disappointed with the 5's comfort, the Touran's nondescript looks and the really awful build quality of the Renault.
Done just under 60,000 miles in the last year and apart from a small gearbox problem cannot fault the car.
Doing the mileage I do it is a common occurence to travel 300 miles in a day, and when I do I always get out of the car with no aches or pains.
Performance is perfectly adequate for an 1800 with about 300 kg's of tools in the boot although it does get a bit vocal towards the top of the rev range.
Handling is surprisingly good for a car of this type. Many a time have I kept up with something much more desirable down the narrow country lanes.
The seven seats are great but of course theres no boot space when you use them all, which is a bit silly really, but I suppose that's what roof boxes were invented for.
I tow a 900kg, 18ft caravan with mine and it does so with no complaints.
All in all a great car that does exactly what you expect it to and sometimes a little bit more.
