2005 Nissan Pathfinder XE review from North America
"The Nissan Pathfinder is a treasured revelation"
General comments?
I finally bought the Nissan Pathfinder in 2005. I shopped around and found a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder XE. It is loaded, (and why shouldn't it be with a five year financial commitment), with all the bells. I am proud of the acceleration being there when I need it most.
I have used the Nissan Pathfinder as a true SUV, loading it down with wood, sod, and pulling 3,700 pounds of household items in tow.
I never feel the need to go shopping for a V8. With this modest beast of a V6 you will get an average of 19.5 MPG, and plenty of happy trails.
My Saturn SC2 is a 2002 model. I would recommend the SC2 if you want great gas mileage, but for performance, handling and pickup, the car is a flop. I cannot stress the importance of having a car that is to your liking and the SC2 is a small, uncomfortable, spine wrenching ride. I had issues with the transmission at around 38,000 miles. When the transmission shifted gears it was taking life off the rest of the car. The interior of the car is rigid and impersonal.
